In the spring of 2019 with grants from the national offices of the United Church of Christ and the Penn Central Conference of the United Church of Christ, a Blessing Box was built and installed at New Covenant by the Women in Construction Club at Penn College.
Since that time, we’ve discovered that the box is widely needed and is well used. It is neighbors helping neighbors. Many people have expressed their appreciation to our church for installing this box which allows folks to take desperately needed food and/or hygiene items, discretely and free of charge.
We would appreciate any donations that you’d be willing to give. Financial gifts can be made through the “Donate” icon on the website home page. But food and hygiene items can also be given, please feel free to drop them off at the church anytime.
We kindly ask for no cans, glass or expired items. But other suggestions would be; water, drink boxes or hot chocolate packets, granola bars or other individually wrapped snacks, single-serve boxed foods like noodles or cereal, pouches of tuna or packets of oatmeal.
Personal care items like feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, combs, packs of tissues, travel size soap, deodorant, shampoos and lotions are much needed as well.
Please consider making a donation and helping us to offer a small blessing to a neighbor who is in need. Thank you!
